A 19C DOMED AND METAL STRAPPED TRUNK OF GWR INTEREST
A large wonderfully coloured domed lidded wooden box with metal strap work, 19th Century and still sporting a GWR luggage label for Devizes pasted over Bath. The trunk is fairly large and has been photographed beside a reasonably tall and somewhat portly antique dealer to give a sense of it's scale. The lid opens and the central clasp works as do the hinges. The top clasps are missing their upper retainers but this does little to detract from the decorative and fun nature of this design icon of the Railways when engines puffed. Add width of 4cm per side to include the handles.
