A GRAND TOUR CAPITOLINE WOLF BRONZE SCULPTURE

A Grand Tour bronze sculpture of Romulus and Remus being suckled by the Capitoline Wolf, from the founding legend of Rome. The base is made of Rosso Barocco marble, and the beautifully detailed bronze group (only one infant), sits on a decorated gilt bronze Roman shield. Italy, around 1815.
