A FRENCH BURR WALNUT SECRÉTAIRE

A French ‘secrétaire à abattant’, (bureau) ca. 1820. Book matched burr walnut veneer over the front. Five large drawers, two of which are concealed in the cornice and the plinth. Fitted interior with scroll fretwork and seven drawers, one of which is operated by a secret mechanism. Geometric Boxwood and ebony inlay around the drawer pulls. Original locks and key.
