A bronze patinated sculpture around 1885, showing the Roman god Mercury resting on a rock examining his winged ankles. Signed Bouret at the back. (Eutrope Bouret, 1833 to 1906, of the French school of Romanticism). Stamped “The Art Union Of London” by the gallery who imported this piece to England in the 19th century. Presented on a circular base in red Languedoc marble.
