The slate vase 'Baobab' has been constructed from reclaimed slate, Penrhyn Heather Blue and as been sourced from Wales. The artist Bill Johnston has built this piece by hand, with each individual slate selected, trimmed and secured creating one of the finest examples of slate sculptures in this form. This sculpture was named "Baobab' because of it's likeness to the 'Baobab' tree native to Madagascar, being both beautifully structural and known for their distinctive swollen trunks.
