This highly unusual take on the classic 19th century oak side chair. Sometimes termed Jacobethan, Flemish, Black Forest etc. this is a single chair, sporting a wonderfully carved bird of prey as well as scrolls and vine fruits, With some clear Carolean influences. The upholstery is well executed and the chair is in overall exceptional condition. It may emanate from America and it has been suggested that it may contain Confederate references. Well constructed, very solid, good weight.
