A FINE PAIR OF HEPPLEWHITE SIDE CHAIRS

A fine pair of mahogany Hepplewhite chairs of good country house proportions with Zoffany "Trellis" cut velvet seat coverings and tapered front legs made by a cabinet maker during the late George III period. he Cabinet Maker and Upholsterers Guide was published posthumously by his wife Alice in 1788, Hepplewhite furniture dates from about 1780-1810. It is of neoclassic style and falls within the Federal period in the United States. These chairs are possibly American.
