Four Bernardino Mei Pictures
Group of four C17th oil on canvas depicting the Quattro Staggione by Bernardino Mei ( Sienna c.1615 – 1676 Rome ). The figures representing the seasons are in the style of Arcimboldo ( Milan 1533 – 1593 ) and were most probably painted by a member of Mei's studio. Bernardino Mei was one of the finest Siennese baroque painters, known mainly for his pictures of young women, allegories or religious scenes.
